How to Contact your Legislators
1. Find Your Legislator
Find the name and addresses of your legislators as above. Once you’ve found your Legislator ’s name, click on it to be directed to her/his webpage to find the email, web-based contact or mailing address.
2. Customize Your Letter:
You can find customizable templates in the toolkits below. To customize the letter, look for the sections of the letter that are enclosed in brackets like this: [Your Name Here]. These are the places where you should personalize the letter, such as adding the name and address of your elected official, your name, your story, etc. Remember to update ALL of the highlighted sections of the letter.
3. Send Your Letter/Email
To mail your letter, once you have customized the bracketed sections of the letter, you can print it. If you’re sending an email, copy and paste your edited letter into a blank email.
How to Write a letter to the President
Here are a few simple things you can do to make sure your message gets to the White House as quickly as possible.
1. If possible, send an email! This is the fastest way to get your message to President Trump.
2. If you write a letter, please consider typing it on an 8 1/2 by 11 inch sheet of paper. If you hand-write your letter, please consider using pen and writing as neatly as possible.
3. Please include your return address on your letter as well as your envelope. If you have an email address, please consider including that as well.
4. And finally, be sure to include the full address of the White House to make sure your message gets delivered as quickly and directly as possible:
