Dear Friends,
The Mexican Federation is pleased that the 30th Triennial IFUW Conference will be celebrated in our country in 2010. This is a very significant year for us, during which we will commemorate our 200th year of independence, as well as the 100 year anniversary of Mexico's social revolution, the first of the 20th century. Two hundred years ago we fought for the liberty of a nation and one hundred years ago for its social rights. Mexico was the first country to include social rights in its constitution, the Constitution of 1917, which is in effect today. The themes of the Conference are critical to all the nations of the world. They highlight the importance of women's empowerment through life-long learning, which can lead to development around the globe. We await you with great enthusiasm and affection. We are sure that your participation in the Conference will be enriching and we are committed to ensuring your stay with us is unforgettable.
