Who We Are

How We Work

Women Graduates-USA is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-partisan, virtual (online) organization.

In structure, it is open and democratic and as such it offers wide opportunities for leadership and inclusion in decision-making, rotation of leaders, and limits on terms of office.

Meetings

Although we are an online organization, WG-USA members have the opportunity to meet face-to-face once yearly at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). Because our members are scattered across the United States, the AGM will be held in a different part of the country each year.

Board meetings are held on a regular basis via teleconference and Skype. Action Items from the board meetings are posted on the website. The board also meets face-to-face at the AGM.

Committees also meet face-to-face at the AGM and via teleconference throughout the year.

How we Interact with Each Other

  1. We communicate via:
    • e-mail
    • the website
    • our e-newsletter The Flame
    • discussion groups and listservs
    • The Meeting Place

    • Members are encouraged to take part in the online discussions, blogs, and wikis.

  2. WG-USA Annual General Meeting
Every fall we conduct a face-to-face Annual General Meeting (AGM) which is open to ALL members. Information about the AGM and how to register will be posted on the website.

  3. Membership in IFUW
Members of WG-USA are also members of the International Federation of University Women (IFUW).
WG-USA members are eligible to serve on IFUW committees and task forces and hold office.
IFUW members communicate on issues of importance through IFUW discussion groups.
IFUW holds a conference in a different country every third year. Information about the next IFUW Triennial will be posted on the WG-USA website.
